Anche la città di Pistoia e i piccoli borghi del territorio si trasformano in palcoscenici a cielo aperto. Ecco i festival da non perdere.

Pistoia Blues Festival

Dal 1980, nel mese di luglio, la suggestiva Piazza del Duomo, nel cuore storico di Pistoia, si trasforma in un palcoscenico a cielo aperto per il Pistoia Blues Festival. Tra i numerosi artisti e le leggende del rock e del blues europeo che si sono esibiti, ricordiamo Jimmy Page, Rory Gallagher, B.B. King e Pat Metheny.

Oltre al cartellone principale, una serie di eventi collaterali arricchisce l’esperienza, rendendo il Pistoia Blues Festival un’occasione unica per vivere la magia della musica in un contesto affascinante.

Nel 2021, il Pistoia Blues Festival ha celebrato il suo 40º anniversario, confermandosi come uno dei più longevi e prestigiosi eventi musicali in Italia, annoverato tra le manifestazioni di rilievo internazionale nel panorama artistico del Paese.

Serravalle Jazz, Rock e Opera

Serravalle Jazz è la rassegna dedicata al panorama italiano e contemporaneo che si svolge a fine agosto a Serravalle Pistoiese. Nasce nel 2001 grazie al gemellaggio musicale e organizzativo con Barga Jazz e con la Big Band. Ogni edizione ruota intorno a un tema e il programma include, oltre agli eventi musicali, incontri con gli artisti, presentazioni di libri e momenti di approfondimento.

L’affascinante Rocca Nuova fa da cornice ad altre due rassegne che si svolgono d’estate: Serravalle Opera (a fine giugno) e Serravalle Rock (a fine luglio). La prima è dedicata all’opera classica, la seconda alla scena del rock indipendente italiano.

Toscana Django Festival

Nato a Popiglio, ogni anno, nel territorio di San Marcello Pistoiese, si tiene il Toscana Django Festival. Dedicato alla figura di Django Reinhardt, uno dei più virtuosi e influenti chitarristi di tutti i tempi, si distingue per l’attenzione alla ricerca e alla sperimentazione musicale, invitando gli artisti a confrontarsi con le proprie origini e tradizioni.

Porretta Soul Festival

Dal 1988 il Porretta Soul Festival, giunto alla sua 36ª edizione, celebra il soul in tutte le sue forme. Si svolge ogni anno a Porretta Terme, sull’Appennino tra Bologna e Pistoia, e ospita numerosi artisti sul palco del Rufus Thomas Park. In oltre trent’anni, il festival ha ospitato i più grandi nomi del soul, guadagnandosi la reputazione di evento musicale di rilievo internazionale.

Pistoia Blues Festival

Since 1980, in July, the striking Piazza del Duomo in the historic heart of Pistoia has been transformed into an open-air stage for the Pistoia Blues Festival. Among the many artists and legends of European rock and blues who have performed, we mention Jimmy Page, Rory Gallagher, B.B. King and Pat Metheny.

In addition to the main appointment, a series of side events enriches the experience, making the Pistoia Blues Festival a unique opportunity to experience the magic of music in a fascinating setting.

In 2021, the Pistoia Blues Festival celebrated its 40th anniversary, confirming it as one of the longest-running and most prestigious music events in Italy, counted among the events of international prominence in the country’s artistic scene.

Serravalle Jazz, Rock e Opera

Serravalle Jazz is the festival dedicated to the Italian and contemporary scene that takes place in late August in Serravalle Pistoiese. It was born in 2001 thanks to the musical and organizational twinning with Barga Jazz and the Big Band. Each edition revolves around a theme and the program includes, in addition to musical events, meetings with artists, book presentations and talks.

The charming Rocca Nuova is the setting for two other festivals held in the summer: Serravalle Opera (in late June) and Serravalle Rock (in late July). The former is dedicated to classical opera, the latter to the Italian independent rock scene.
