Ironworks pathway
This charming nature trail, about 600 m long, starts from the Green Power Garden, then – following the river – reaches the water intake on the Maresca stream. The old artificial canal, running on the side of the route, served the purpose of powering the ironworks at Pontepetri, dating to the 18th century and decommissioned in 1978. This area is also ideal for taking a delightful walk in the midst of nature. You can use its tables, benches and barbecues so that it becomes a perfect place for an outdoor picnic.

Villa Puccini di Scornio
Known as "Villon Puccini," this neoclassical villa was frescoed in the first half of the 18th century by the finest painters of the Florentine court. At its peak, it spanned 123 hectares and boasted one of the largest and most beautiful Italian-style gardens of its time. Today, it remains a green oasis located just a few kilometres from the centre of Pistoia. Within the park, there are facilities for five-a-side football, basketball, volleyball, and a play area for children.
Gavinana
Gavinana is a delightful medieval hamlet, a district of the town of San Marcello Piteglio. We first arrive in the town square with the equestrian statue of Francesco Ferrucci in its centre, made to commemorate the historical battle of 1530. The wonderful church of Pieve di Santa Maria Assunta, is well worth a visit: it is a 11th-century Romanesque building with an extremely precious organ inside. This historic organ is one of the largest in Italy with its 2.063 pipes! At Gavinana you can also visit the Museo naturalistico archeologico dell’Appennino Pistoiese which reconstructs the history of man in these areas and has, on exhibition, many prehistoric findings of the North-Western Apennines, among which a skeleton of a bear going back to cavemen times.
The trail winds for about 9 km, connecting Le Piastre to Pontepetri. Accompanied by bilingual signs, the itinerary allows you to discover some important evidence of the production of ice.

Scaffaiolo Lake
The Scaffaiolo Lake is a mountain lake located in the municipality of Fanano, in the province of Modena, nestled in the upper Modenese Apennines. Its location and characteristics make it a popular destination for hikers and nature enthusiasts. Valdibrana
